I knew in 2016 that it was time for me to leave my corporate work and strike out on my own. Well, really I've known for 20 years! But I reached a turning point in 2016, and I finally gathered the courage to shift my life in early 2017.
I had a vision for my business and a basic idea for what I'd be doing. . .but pretty quickly I could tell I was spinning and struggling in my effort to find my footing, to find the energy, focus, and approach that would work best for me. It was clear that I needed help with mindset and rediscovering my creative genius.
I'd identified my product, ideal customer, branding elements, company name, etcetera. . .but I struggled daily to feel productive, confident, and capable. I was burying myself in schedules and rules and self-judgement while trying to live organically and naturally but not knowing how to do that fully.
Working with Ellen, I began to recognise when I was spinning, and gained the techniques to focus on what was obvious for me to do. I recognised what is just all in my mind and was able to stop listening to it, and connect back to my purpose.
Fast forward a year and I'm clearer on my mission, making progress on product development, have a launch date planned (yikes!), and I'm far more comfortable experimenting with my own creativity and approach to my overall life. I'm certainly not ‘done’ and never will be, but the journey is more joyful now and I have more grace for myself and confidence in my efforts!
